Ghana Mission Trip

In May, a team of Campus Outreach (CO) staff and students traveled to Accra, Ghana to serve alongside Redeemer City Church as they faithfully minister to university students in the city. One of the primary ways the team helped was through a week-long Leadership Project for 12 Ghanian student leaders. Throughout the week, they led training sessions on Bible study, prayer, and theology. Between sessions, they enjoyed games, fellowship, and a beach day. The hope is that the repeated visits and trainings led by the CO team will help to eventually establish an international CO region in Ghana. "The Student Leadership Project was one of the most powerful things I've ever been a part of. Their hunger to know Jesus and to make him known on campus was inspiring," Matt Reagan, CO Director, shared.
One of the highlights for the team was seeing a student, who met the CO team on their trip two years ago, surrender his life to Jesus on the last day of the training. Now, he will have the opportunity to continue growing into a mature disciple of Christ through the local church in Ghana. Parker Lewis, who served on this team, reflected on his time in Ghana sharing, “It was a joy to see Christ at work in the lives of these students and our team. Throughout the week, He impressed upon us the beauty and glory of Christ and renewed our conviction that He is worthy of being proclaimed to the nations.”
Please pray for the Redeemer City staff as they make disciples on the campus in Accra. Pray for the student who came to faith, that he would treasure and follow Jesus for years to come. Pray also for the staff and student leaders to have confidence and boldness in proclaiming the gospel to those they meet. Lastly, they are recruiting several Zambians, who have been working with CO in Lusaka, to join the ministry in Accra. Please pray for the funding and logistics required for this to happen.
