Giving FAQs

From time to time, we get asked questions about online giving, text-to-give, and others on the various ways to give to East Cooper Baptist. Here are some frequently asked questions that we hope will be helpful.

What does it mean to tithe?

The word "tithe" literally means tenth or 10%. Tithing, or giving ten percent of your income, isn't merely giving something to God. It's giving back what was His to begin with. All that we have, or hope to have, comes from Him. The Bible says that tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything. It teaches us to always put God first in our lives.

Do I need to set up a new account to give?

If you've never given to East Cooper Baptist, yes, you will need to set-up a new account. However, if you have given before, you can simply use your same account login and password that you have always used to give or register for events.

How do I text-to-give and what is the new number?

If it's your first time using Text to Give, text the word GIVE to 843-202-4848. You will receive a text message with a link to set up your payment information. Once you have completed that, you will receive a text message confirmation that your payment information was successfully saved. You are now ready to give by text! Visit our Text to Give page for more information.

With the new East Cooper Giving will I need to recreate my online giving schedule?

No. Your scheduled giving will remain the same. Simply, log on to Manage My Giving and click on Recurring Gifts to view your schedules.

Where do I access my historical giving and contribution statements?

Go to the new East Cooper Giving page and click on Manage My Giving and log on. Then, click on Giving History to view and download your giving statements.

What does Beyond the Tithe mean?

Beyond the Tithe are those gifts given beyond the biblical standard of the tithe given to the General Fund of the church. Under the Beyond the Tithe tab, you can designate gifts to ministries like Campus Outreach, Palmetto Christian Academy, mission trips, and more.
