Seeking Him

Posted by Rose Anderson on

Are you seeking the Lord's will regarding something very specific?  Do you need some word from Him?  What do you do?  Pray!  (1 Peter 5:7) Tell Him specifically what you need!  He is good and He is intimately involved in your life.  Specific prayer makes you aware of this and shows you His power and glory as He moves to help you!  Be ready, because when He answers, He does so in ways that are more abundant than we could ever ask or imagine.  (Eph 3:20-21) Also be ready to be surprised by the complexity of His ways.

Sometimes He will allow something difficult in order to bring you to an even better place.  During difficult times, we must trust in His character and remember His very great love.  (Romans 8:31-39)  Know for certain that His plans are never to harm you but to give you a future and a hope.  (Jer 29:11)   Ask Him to make you aware of His Presence.   Remember to ask for His wisdom!  He promises to give it when we ask.  (James 1:5)  Then wait on Him.

Waiting is not a time of inactivity!  As you wait on the Lord, continue to pray!  Ask Him to reveal His will for you.  Give thanks, praise Him and worship!  (Psalm 9:1)  He inhabits the praises of His people.  Also as you wait, stay in the Word daily.  Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you as you read.  You will be amazed at how relevant the Scriptures will be to your situation.  (John 14:26)  Finally, and this is key, ask Him to give you peace as you wait and peace with whatever the outcome should be.  (1Thes 5:16-18)   Ask Him to keep your hands open so that you are fully yielded to Him.  We can't devise our own peace.  We can't talk ourselves into feeling peaceful.  If you do not have peace, keep praying and trust that He will use that unsettled feeling, too.  He hears us and He is working in you. Pray and expect him to show you in His time.  (Proverbs 3:5-6)  Be patient as you rest in Him. (1Thes 5:24)
