Ways to Help
SAMARITAN'S PURSE IS HELPING SUFFERING FAMILIES AND CHURCHES AFTER HURRICANE MARIA.
Samaritan's Purse responds to the urgent needs of families devastated by the wind, rain, and storm surge of catastrophic hurricanes. Whether in the United States or abroad, we come alongside hurting people to bring emergency relief and practical help in the Name of Jesus Christ.
In an effort to assist in relief and recovery efforts for those in areas impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, we are asking for people to purchase $25 gift cards from retailers such as Lowes, Wal-Mart, or Home Depot. Your gift cards will be sent to partnering churches and/or Samaritan’s Purse in those areas affected to be distributed to those in need. Many of these victims have lost everything and this will certainly be a blessing. The local pastors and Samaritan's Purse will know those most in need and can be trusted to distribute the cards wisely.
The $25 figure is intended to provide some uniformity to the cards so the amount on each card is not in question. This is not intended to limit anyone from donating multiple cards!
If you'd like to write a note of encouragement to go along with the card, just tape the note to the card. Bring gift cards to church on Sunday and deposit them in the gift card box located at the featured ministry kiosk in the Welcome Center. We will be collecting them through October 15.
We are actively working with Samaritan's Purse to identify a place and a time to help Florida hurricane victims recover. If you are interested in potentially being a member of the ECBC disaster relief team, just fill out the interest below and we will keep you informed as we get additional details.
