Job Title: Finance Assistant
Reports To: Finance Director

Position Summary
The Finance Assistant will be responsible for providing financial support services for the day-to-day transactions of the church, school, and all related ministries of East Cooper Baptist Church. This position will primarily support the Finance Team and will be cross-trained on Accounts Payable and all items related to Payroll. This position is for 20 hours per week at $20 to $25 per hour based upon experience.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Cross-train in all aspects of Accounts Payable
  • Provide backup and assistance for Accounts Payable, to include monitoring and maintaining credit card purchases
  • Organize, file, and track financial documents
  • Ensure invoices and bills are processed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Prepare for and cooperate with the independent auditor as information is requested during the annual audit period
  • Cross-train in all aspects of Payroll, W2, and 1099 preparation and distribution
  • Reconciling all employee benefits to billing statements
  • Cross-train in contributions, tuition receivable, and incoming funds
  • Maintain confidentiality with all financial information
  • Assist Finance Team with analyzing workflow process

Job Title: Nursery Caregivers
Status: Part-time Hourly

Position Description
The ECBC Nursery Department desires to hire Nursery Caregivers to help with various day and evening ministry events. Workers must be at least 15 years of age and must provide previous experience caring for children. The Nursery Department will train each new Caregiver hired. The Nursery Caregiver is to provide care for the overall needs of each child in their classroom. The Nursery Caregiver is an hourly paid position. Adults $15.00 per hour and Teens $12.00 per hour.

Position Summary
Provide administrative support by handling information requests and performing functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, scheduling meetings, and supplying the office. Assisting the Director of Operations with thorough execution; responsibilities require the exercise of independent judgment, technical knowledge of the specific area of assignment and of overall church activities.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the ‘face’ of the church, offering friendly service to those entering or calling the office by answering questions, providing directions, and alerting staff when someone has arrived to meet or visit them
  • Ability to be empathetic and pray with people who may be distressed both over the phone and in person
  • Answer a multiple line phone system, manage calls by routing them to the proper extensions or taking messages and delivering them in a timely manner
  • Perform a wide variety of executive secretarial and administrative duties as required by daily operations in the church’s office
  • Serve as the Administrative Assistant to the Operations Director
  • Responsible for scheduling meetings and appointments for the Operations Director and as otherwise directed
  • Prepare meeting agendas and meeting minutes upon request
  • Maintain copies, scans, and other documentation as requested for the Operations Director
  • Responsible for monitoring and approving room usage requests through management software and working with Facilities and Maintenance as needed
  • Perform office duties such as keeping inventory and ordering office supplies in a cost-effective manner, submitting invoices, and maintaining a clean and organized office space and supply room; including a small kitchenette
  • Initiate service calls for printers and maintain backorder information
  • Maintain daily incoming and outgoing mail and packages
  • Support other ministry areas by maintaining accurate records and managing systems

Position Summary
The Worship Arts Ministry Associate is involved in a wide range of support responsibilities inside the Worship Arts Ministry, including all administrative needs dealing with the preparation of music and materials needed for all rehearsals and preparation for all Sunday services and special worship events. An important aspect of this role is also to serve as an administrative assistant for the Worship Arts staff (Worship Pastor, Instrumental Director, and Contemporary Worship Director) and all associated ministries, and serve as the first face in all communication to the members of all Worship Arts Ministry Groups and the church at large.  

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist with day to day needs of the Worship Arts Department
  • Manage calendars, budgets, and attendance for all areas of the Worship Arts Department 
  • Prepare music and resources for all rehearsals and events of Worship Arts  
  • Accurately communicate timely information to all members of Worship Arts Teams and staff as needed
  • Prepare and coordinate logistics and groups for all rehearsals, Sunday services, and special worship events 
  • Serve on Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, and special worship events to help rehearsals and services go smoothly
  • Assist with the development of broader Worship Arts Creative Team
  • Coordinate Pre-Marriage Counseling assignments and calender for ECBC weddings, baby dedications, end of life services and other service elements
  • Serve administrative needs of the East Cooper Arts Academy
