The East Cooper Baptist Legacy Fund was established by the Elders of East Cooper Baptist Church due to a recognition that Christians are called to be faithful stewards of all the gifts of God. We encourage both members and friends of the congregation to utilize the many ways available for giving to expand and enrich the work and mission of the East Cooper Baptist Church in helping broken people treasure Jesus.

"Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered." Proverbs 11:25

The purpose of the Legacy Fund is to establish a means whereby material gifts (listed below) to East Cooper Baptist Church are being represented to the Glory of God.

  • money
  • stock
  • property

This may be encouraged and accomplished through outright transfers or bequests in wills or trusts. Gifts can be given at any time.

All funds are administered by the Baptist Foundation of South Carolina, in partnership with East Cooper Baptist Church. The Baptist Foundation of South Carolina serves SC Baptist churches, institutions, and other Christian ministries through investment and endowment services, as well as educating constituents about giving through estate and planned gifts. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees elected by the SC Baptist Convention.

Fund Overview

The Legacy Fund believes that it is imperative to operate with a proven process built on our core beliefs as Christians, while striving to be as academically sound and professional as anyone in the secular market. We humbly acknowledge that every dollar entrusted to us is God’s money that has been given by His stewards for His purposes. We will employ the Baptist Foundation of South Carolina to invest the donated funds in appropriate assets in a portfolio designed to achieve the desired rate of return while incurring the least amount of risk possible and minimizing transaction costs.

Our investment process is founded upon the same three core principles used by the Foundation:

  • Asset allocation (or how the investments are mixed) is the most crucial decision in structuring any portfolio.
  • Downside protection is important in every portfolio.
  • Transparency is essential in all areas of investing, including management, and associated fees.

Through these core principles and the assistance of the Baptist Foundation of South Carolina, its institutional consultant, and professional money managers to structure investment portfolios available to East Cooper Baptist Church and the Legacy Fund, this investment process is designed to make the Legacy Fund as academically sound as any secular institution or endowment providing similar services.

Legacy Impact

Your gift to the Legacy Fund goes above and beyond normal tithe giving to support these specific areas. These are Designated Gifts East Cooper Baptist Church encourages our donors to consider giving towards. Donations may be to any one or spread over two or more. Where your heart is, so your financial blessings should follow.

This gift would cover global and local mission activities that support the church’s stated goals.

This gift is to establish a scholarship fund that would help the Church’s members defray the cost of sending their child/children to Palmetto Christian Academy. It is intended to help those who otherwise would not be able to afford to send their child to Palmetto Christian Academy.

This gift is for major unforeseen expenses that exceed 10% of the annual operating budget. It is not intended to cover a shortfall in giving nor is it intended to cover the expenses following a lack of planned maintenance or any other aspect of negligence.

Give

We invite you to pray and consider how you can give above and beyond your tithe to help us make a difference with missions, the next generation, and unplanned expenses. If you have questions about your gift, please contact Jacque Wenger.
